Surfers Lounge
Why choose us?
All our surf guides are fully qualified ISA (International Surf Association) Level 1 Surf Coaches. We all have our First Aid Certificate, National Lifeguard Award and/or Bronze Medallion awards.
Our instructors are in the water with you at all times to make you feel comfortable and give you the attention you need to achieve your surfing goals.
We take small groups and always work within the ISA safety ratio of 8 to 1.
Unlike other surf schools our day trips and surf school is mobile giving you access to the best learning conditions (East or West coast) around the Auckland area.
We stay at our own exclusive lodge (Ahipara Surf Lodge), while on our 5/12 day and custom surf tours. The lodge is located right on the beach in Ahipara and directly in front of the lodge is a very good consistent beach break, which offers great learning and longboarding waves.
We have been in business since 2001 and you simply won’t find better!
We will take you to some of the most beautiful and unique areas of the New Zealand coastline - special places that you would never get the opportunity to visit without our local knowledge.
Tangaroa and Tawhirimatea, (the gods of the oceans and the elements) ultimately dictate our itinerary. Surfing is all about tide and weather conditions, hence the flexible nature of our trips. We will find the best waves on the day to suit your ability.
Our crew have taught many surfers from beginner to intermediate and enjoy sharing their experiences.
"Safety is our number one priority with thorough risk management plans in place, qualified instructors, high grade equipment and the right attitude. We look forward to sharing our New Zealand Surf 'n' Snow Tours experience with you". - Judd Stratful, Director
