New Zealand is loaded with great surf spots and is rapidly becoming a major surf destination, - with both coastlines being so close, quality waves are never very far away.

So if your itinerary doesn't quite allow you to squeeze in some time with us and soak up our world famous hospitality and surfing culture, but you're keen for a surf, then talk to us anyway, because there's a good chance that we can hook you up with the right guys, whatever your destination around this beautiful country of ours!

In summer, the temperature can reach around 30 degrees Celsius / 86 Fahrenheit. This means that you will be able to surf the North Island spots in board shorts, although a light spring suit is recommended. In the winter the water still remains ok in the North of the North Island, although a steamer is needed. Booties are recommended the further south you go.

Average water temperatures range from 12 degrees Celsius / 54 Fahrenheit in the winter to 22 degrees Celsius / 72 Fahrenheit in the summer.
