SNZ Endorsed New Zealand Surf Lessons

If you want your kids to be really safe in the surf, then a surf school is a great place to start. Once they are competent swimmers, New Zealand Surf n Snow Tours will teach all the fundamentals of surfing, surf safety and surfing rules.

Choose between our 1 Day Surf School, 2 Day Surf School and 5 Day Surf School Camp. All our instructors are New Zealand Endorsed Surf Coaches and have taught kids from all ages. Our instructors are in the water at all times to make you feel comfortable and reach that ultimate goal of standing and catching your first wave!

Our surf school is mobile giving you access to the best learning conditions around the Auckland area. Learn about rips, holes and undertows, how to identify them, escape them and use them to your advantage. You will also learn the difference between offshore and onshore winds, afternoon sea breezes, tides, and surfing rules.

If you are serious about learning to surf and have the time our 5 Day Surf School Camp is a must!

We can specifically design a programme to suit your school requirements. We have worked with many Auckland Schools and references are available. If you would like us to put together a programme for your school please contact us.

Where are the surf lessons held...

Lessons are held on the west or east coast, which ever has the best learning conditions on the day. The main destination is Piha because of the consistency of waves on the west coast.

What to bring

Towel, swimming togs (bathing suit), suitable clothing, sunscreen, sunglasses. Byo lunch or we can make a lunch stop.

Available dates

Dec/Jan, April/May, Sept/Oct school holidays. Please contact us for available dates.

Minimum Age 10 (Younger kids are welcome but an adult will need to attend).

If you are under 18 years of age you must have a parent or gaurdian complete a Conditions of Booking Form when attending our 1 or 2 day surf school.
Please print this form and bring it along with you on the day. Your parent/gaurdian can also sign the form on the day.
